the new home for the toledo museum of art’s glass collection has opened to the public. it will host a world-renowned glass collection, but will also be an active glassmaking studio space.
the glass pavilion was designed by tokyo-based architects sejima and nishizawa and associates (sanaa) and features walls made almost entirely of curved glass. the glass pavilion was the first american commission for sanaa and their first completed project in the usa. currently a second project by sanaa in the usa is under construction, the new museum of contemporary art in new york. |
