INFORMATION
The last designed house by Mies in Germany before his emigration to the USA in 1938. The original interior was designed by Mies and Lilly Reich.
The married couple only lived for a couple of years in the mansion. The red army urged the to leave the house in May 1945. The area became a restricted area and the house was used as a garage and storage space. Some serious changes were made to the house and garden.
In 1977 the Berlin authorities put the house on the monument list. First restaurations of the abandoned building started in the early 80's.
